Job Description:
The Florida Museum of Natural History is seeking an Exhibit and Facility Coordinator. The Exhibit and Facility Coordinator is as key member of exhibit team, participating in all phases of exhibit design development and production. Assists exhibit fabrication, installation, strike and maintenance. Reviews designs, fabrication drawings, exhibit install/strike plans, materials and logistics. Performs regular exhibit and facility inspections to identify repair and maintenance needs, completing and coordinating repair and resolution. Facility duties include coordinating, communicating, and resolving facility maintenance and repair issues with UF Facilities. Maintains building security system access and key inventory.
Job Duties:
Expected Salary:
$58,686.00 minimum, commensurate with experience and education
Required Qualifications:
Master’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization; or a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two (2) years of appropriate experience.
Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Museum Studies, Industrial Design, Architecture, Engineering, Fine Arts, or a related field. Experience in exhibit fabrication, museum operations, or facility maintenance, preferably in a museum or similar public setting. Experience with fabrication tools, exhibit lighting, audiovisual systems, and environmental monitoring equipment. Familiarity with building maintenance procedures, safety standards, and emergency preparedness. Strong project coordination, communication, and teamwork skills. Proficiency with design or drafting software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, AutoCAD) preferred. Background or experience in science or natural history is a plus.
